Job Description

The responsibilities of the Cost Analyst are



  • Perform accounting processes related to cost accounting, including property, marketing, and employment costs, and reconcile associated balance sheet positions.


  • Ensure accurate cost recording in local currencies and in accordance with Group Accounting Policy, collaborating with the COE - Controlling team for guidance on areas requiring professional judgement.


  • Ensure cost allocations are made in compliance with statutory accounting requirements for legal entities.


  • Post accruals and prepayments, ensuring full reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, with a clear understanding of ageing and action plans to address exceptions.


  • Post other journal entries as directed by the Line Manager or the COE - Controlling team.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Cost Analyst should possess the following:



  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, particularly in cost accounting, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliation.


  • Attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate variances and ensure data accuracy.


  • Knowledge with financial systems and ERP tools, and confidence in posting journal entries and managing financial data.


  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including COE - Controlling.


  • Understanding of statutory accounting requirements and the ability to apply Group Accounting Policy in a multi-currency environment.
